When & Where
September 5th, 2024.
The group will meet in Reykjavik on September 4th. The best case scenario is you book your flights to arrive in Keflavik before 16:00. The reason why is we want to stay in Vik on September 4th. Because it’s a long drive, we need to all arrive before 16:00.
If the group arrives before 16:00, the plan is to stay in Vik on September 4th. Then on September 5th, we will spend the night in Reykjavik. The workshop locations we’ll shoot at will be along the south coast between Vik and Selfoss.
Format & Size
This is an intense workshop and demanding. The day is long as we will photograph at sunrise and sunset. We will be hitting up as many spots as possible throughout the day. So a warning – we go hard and you can expect a very long day. Outside the photography and filming, there is a midday workshop which focus entirely on hybrid. So if you have a tiny film itch to scratch (or vice versa), this workshop is for you because there will be a balance between film and photography!
The workshop is for 7 guests, plus the hosts and two couples we photograph. Yes, two couples (one before lunch, one after).
Taylor Jackson
Taylor Jackson is a Canadian wedding photographer and filmmaker.
When he’s not at a wedding, Taylor enjoys making YouTube films for his channel (591k subscribers – nbd).
The allure of Icelandic hotdogs has kept him coming back for over 30 visits to the tiny, windy island. His favourite hotdog stand is in Reykjavik. He looks forward to showing off this little stand for the workshop guests this April!
Cole Roberts
Cole is the co-founder of Way Up North, Kolla, Nordica and has been a Fujifilm X-Photographer since 2016.
Cole lives in Gävle, Sweden with his wife and three kids. He wishes he spent more time at his cabin chopping wood and lighting fires while listening to country music.
Included / Not-included
Accommodations are not included. We will be spending one night in Vik (if everyone lands before 16:00 on September 4th) and one night in Reykjavik. We will introduce the group to one another when the workshop is full. Based on the intros, you may choose to share rooms if you’re looking to lower costs. We will recommend one hotel in Vik and one in Reykjavik for you to consider, but of course, you’re welcome to book anywhere you choose in either location.
The workshop includes transportation on September 4th (if you arrive before 16:00) and 5th. Guests are responsible for their travels to and from Iceland. Food and beverages are not included.
Want to Model?
We are looking for two couples to photograph during the workshop.
Compensation is a complimentary seat for the workshop. So one day you model, the other day you are a regular workshop guest.
