Iceland Wedding Photography Workshop

Iceland Hybrid Wedding Workshop

April 19th and 20th, 2023, join Taylor Jackson and Cole Roberts in Iceland! This hybrid wedding workshop will scratch your adventurous itch. At the same time, go home with a bag full of new portfolio material plus skills you didn’t know you had.

Key Takeaways:

  • An introduction to working hybrid (video and photography)
  • Understanding the how and why behind offering both video and photography
  • Fundamentals to video and photography edits
  • Shooting for the edit
  • An insane adventure in Iceland with an experienced guide who knows the spots

This workshop was intense, adventurous and totally amazing. I would recommend it to photographers who wants to challenge themselves by working in different weather conditions (at a fast pace), in breathtaking environments, and are curious about shooting destination weddings. It is totally worth it! – Hanna Ferm

When & Where

April 19th + 20th, 2023

The group will meet in Reykjavik on April 18th in the afternoon for a group intro! We’ll meet, hang out for a while, and get to know one another.

If you’re thinking ahead to hotels, each night we will stay in Reykjavik (3 nights). Guests are welcome to book anywhere they like. We will connect everyone before the workshop in a private Slack channel. From there, you may find others to share accommodations with.

Format & Size

This is an intense workshop and demanding. The days are long as we will photograph at sunrise and sunset. We will be hitting up as many spots as possible within a condensed time frame. So a warning – we go hard for two days.

Outside the photography and filming, there are midday workshops and rest. These will touch on working as a hybrid photographer and filmmaker. So if you have a tiny film itch to scratch (or visa versa), this workshop is for you!

The workshop is for 8 guests, plus the hosts and couples we photograph.

Taylor Jackson

Taylor Jackson

Taylor Jackson is a Canadian wedding photographer and filmmaker.

When he’s not at a wedding, Taylor enjoys making YouTube films for his channel (591k subscribers – nbd).

The allure of Icelandic hotdogs has kept him coming back for over 30 visits to the tiny, windy island. His favourite hotdog stand is in Reykjavik. He looks forward to showing off this little stand for the workshop guests this April!

Cole Roberts

Cole is the co-founder of Way Up NorthKolla, Nordica and has been a Fujifilm X-Photographer since 2016.

Cole lives in Gävle, Sweden with his wife and three kids. He wishes he spent more time at his cabin chopping wood and lighting fires while listening to country music.

Included / Not-included

Accommodations are not included. We will be spending three nights in Reykjavik, so you will need to book something in the city. We will introduce the group to one another when the workshop is full. Based on the intros, you may choose to share rooms if you’re looking to lower costs.

The workshop includes transportation on April 19th and 20th. If our flights from Keflavik airport are close, we are happy to offer airport rides. If not, guests need to sort transportation from Keflavik to Reykjavik. Guests are responsible for their travels to and from Iceland. Food and beverages are not included.

Want to Model?

We are looking for two couples to photograph during the workshop.

Compensation is a complimentary seat for the workshop. So one day you model, the other day you are a regular workshop guest.

If you are a photographer interested in this, contact us.
